The RF and Microwaves Group, belonging to the Department of Communications Engineering (DICOM) of the
University of Cantabria, develops its educational and research activity covering a wide range of subjects related with the microwaves technology and applications (from few MHz to beyond 100 GHz).
The main research areas of the RF and Microwaves Group are the following:
- Design and development of receivers for radio astronomy applications.
- Power amplifiers and high efficiency transmitters
- Waveguide microwave front-ends.
- Very Low Noise Cryogenic Amplifiers.
- Design, manufacture, and assembly of radio frequency and microwave circuits.
- Design of monolithic microwave integrated circuits.
- Measurements and characterization of radio frequency and microwave circuits and devices.
- Design, manufacture and measurement of passive microwave devices and waveguide horns.
The Group participates in the activities of the Chip Cantabria Chair.
