Description: Design and experimental testing of prototypes for new low-noise receiver systems for space applications, in the terrestrial and satellite segments.
Goals: Development of new receiver and transmitter systems, for satellite and terrestrial communications, in the radio frequency and microwave bands.
In receivers, the main objective is the design and experimental validation of prototypes of radio communications front-ends, including the subsystems connected to the antennas, and low noise amplifiers with new semiconductor technologies, such as Gallium Nitride (GaN), to achieve robust receivers against high-power interferences, with improvements in relation to current Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) receivers.
In transmitters, the main objective is the design of higher efficiency power amplifiers for mobile communications systems, improving energy consumption compared to current systems.

Title: Millimeter wave KID detectors and amplifiers for CMB observations
