Mabel Pontón received a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering in 2004, a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies in Mobile Networks in 2008, and a PhD from the University of Cantabria in 2010.
In 2006, she joined the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Cantabria, where she has focused on the development of simulation tools and the nonlinear analysis of autonomous microwave circuits.
Between 2011 and 2013, she carried out a two-year postdoctoral stay at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, USA. During this time, she also served as a Guest Lecturer at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Tech.
In 2011, she received a scholarship from the ME/Fulbright Program, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, and in 2014, she was granted funding through the Juan de la Cierva – Incorporation program in the area of Electronic and Communication Technology, awarded by the National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP), under the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
Currently, Mabel Pontón works in the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Cantabria as an Associate Professor in the area of Signal Theory and Communications.
